About US

Winnie Tsui

Winnie Tsui is one of the most recognised and respected TV professionals in Hong Kong. Throughout her 30-year career as a news anchorwoman and financial programme host, Winnie has been a pioneer. She was amongst the first generation of anchors specialising in news presenting. Having served in three major broadcasting stations, Winnie was also responsible for selecting and training more than 100 news presenters. Many of them have developed into well-known personalities in the industry. After graduating from the University of Hong Kong in 1993, she joined Cable TV, which launched the territories’ first all-news TV channel in the same year. In 2000 she joined the news department of TVB and helped launch TVB’s first 24-hour news network in 2003. In 2005 she joined PCCW Media as chief anchor and producer. Then again, she was a key executive responsible for setting up Now333, the first business-focused news channel of Hong Kong. Since the advent of 24-hour news cycle in the early 1990s, Winnie has been dutifully reporting to the audience major events that shaped the political and economic scenes of Hong Kong, mainland China and the world. Winnie has hosted a vast array of news and financial programs, covering an extensive range of subjects including the Legislative Council elections before 1997; the handover ceremony of Hong Kong’s sovereignty to China in 1997; the September-11 attacks in the US; the global credit crisis in 2008; China-US trade and tech rows as well as the post-pandemic economic restructuring, to just name a few. She has also interviewed countless political and business leaders, as well as economists, scholars and senior executives of listed companies and financial institutes. Apart from her busy working schedule, Winnie always loves to share her working experience to young people. For many years, she has taught on-air presentation skills in journalism schools of major local universities, mentoring students who aspire to pursue their careers in the TV industry.
